Interactive Metronome

Interactive Metronome (IM) is a computer-based training program that has been demonstrated to improve attention, coordination, and timing in individuals with a wide range of cognitive and physical difficulties, including ADHD. Studies have shown that individuals who completed 15 to 21 sessions of IM training had improved attention, motor control, coordination, language processing, self regulation and reading and math fluency.

In our experience children 7 years of age and older are the best candidates for IM training. An IM evaluation, which takes 30-60 minutes, is required to determine eligibility for the IM program, estimate the number of sessions likely to be required and set specific goals. Typically 15 sessions are recommended, a minimum of three sessions per week for five weeks. Sessions last between 45 minutes and an hour. The number of pre-training sessions is determined during the IM evaluation.

Interactive Metronome can be an effective adjunct to occupational therapy, or administered as a stand-alone program. For more information about IM please visit:
