Ariela has been an active member of the POTS team since 2011. As the daughter of an occupational therapist with a sensory gym in her basement, Ariela has been surrounded by pediatric occupational therapy her entire life. Now, as the mom of two young children, she brings a particular sensitivity to parenting challenges and an occupational therapist’s savvy for solutions, which are reflected in her treatment sessions and popular parenting blogs. Because of her background in ballet and some dabbling in rock climbing, Ariela has deep understanding of the joy and confidence to be gained from unimpeded movement. She delights in helping children of all ages enhance their strength, neuromuscular skills, sensorimotor skills, social-emotional skills and self-regulation through movement.
An avid swimmer, lifeguard and swimming instructor for many years, Ariela blends her expertise and creativity as a pediatric OT and advanced training in Aqua therapy to provide unique OT sessions in the water focusing on sensory integration and neuromuscular skills.
Ariela earned her Bachelor of Arts in occupational therapy in 2010 from Hebrew University in Israel and her Master’s degree in occupational therapy at NYU in 2012. Committed to lifelong learning, Ariela has advanced training in Sensory Integration, DIR/Floortime, Therapeutic use of the Ball, Yoga for Kids and Intervention for the High Risk Infant.
