Kara Fulek, MA CCC-SLP

Speech Languate Pathologist

kara@potsot.com

Compassionate and knowledgeable, Kara is driven to help children and their families in meaningful ways. She takes a strength-based approach where children develop higher levels of skill by engaging in their interests and using their innate strengths. She loves to help children (and their parents) experience the joy of communication with the people they care about the most.

Kara grew up in New Jersey, but has lived and practiced in many places including Pennsylvania, California, Arizona, and Vienna, Austria. She is thrilled to be back in her home state!

Kara loves to learn and is always researching for her clients and learning new techniques. She continues her education through classes and workshops and is always in the middle of at least one book and one podcast about some aspect of her work. Lately, she’s been diving deeper into feeding disorders, tethered oral tissues, autism, using speech-to-print techniques for literacy intervention, and how to compassionately treat behavioral challenges using the latest brain science.

Kara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey in 2005, and then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Science from Temple University in 2008. She has worked in schools, private practice, and home-based settings.  When she’s not at work, Kara can be found with her husband and two young children.
