Dr. Kayla Stygar, MS, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Kayla brings infectious energy and a deep commitment to helping children, teens, and young adults discover their strengths and build confidence in their everyday lives. With a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University, she has worked across outpatient, school-based, and community settings, always approaching therapy through a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based lens that celebrates each client’s unique way of experiencing the world.
Kayla completed her doctoral capstone at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she specialized in supporting autistic adolescents and young adults as they develop daily living skills and work toward their future goals. This experience deepened her expertise in sensory regulation, motor development, and life skills training across a wide age range—from young children navigating sensory challenges to teens and young adults building independence.
Drawn to helping others from a young age, Kayla discovered her passion for pediatrics early in her training. Her experiences across diverse clinical settings have shaped her into a patient, creative, and family-centered therapist who values open communication and true collaboration with caregivers. She believes therapy should feel safe, encouraging, and genuinely enjoyable—a place where skills “click” through play, creativity, and connection.
Kayla’s creativity extends far beyond the therapy room. She’s constantly experimenting with new crafts, designing hands-on activities, and finding playful ways to make learning feel natural and fun. An avid runner and sports enthusiast, she also loves spending time with family, tackling challenging puzzles, and diving into any project that lets her put her crafty skills to work. Above all, Kayla is passionate about helping every child and teen she works with feel capable, understood, and confident as they navigate their world.
