
Leah Schonfeld, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Leah’s experience as a gymnastics instructor and program director inspired her to become an occupational therapist and informs her daily practice today. Coaching young gymnasts and working with children in the special needs community taught her how to make hard work FUN! She finds great joy in helping children reach their potential and conquer their goals by providing an exciting yet comfortable therapeutic environment.
Leah graduated from Long Island University with a BS and MS in Occupational Therapy, summa cum laude.
She has worked in a variety of settings, including private occupational and physical therapy practices, treating a variety of orthopedic injuries, weaknesses, and pain syndromes and schools, creating and implementing treatment plans in a special education school setting for children with a variety of challenges. Leah is trained in Reflex Integration and is pursuing certification in Dynamic Movement Intervention.
Among Leah’s other gifts and talents, she is fluent in Yiddish and enjoys creative DIY projects in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching sunsets on the beach.
