Hand Preference

The preferential use of one hand for motor tasks. It reflects mature lateralization of the brain. Lack of hand preference or confusion about hand preference limits the development of fine motor skills. Confused hand preference is often associated with difficulty crossing the midline of the body and coordinating the hands together.
